Life is a paradox

When you are younger you can't wait to be older so that you can have all kinds of freedom to do whatever you want, and when you become older you would gladly give up all that freedom to live the carefree, stress free life you once had. The only freedom I truly enjoy about being an adult is no bedtime and I can eat ice cream whenever I want, although when I was younger I could eat whatever I wanted and not gain any weight. I don't know, these wishes of being able to return to how life was previously seems to accompany me whenever I make a change. I was so glad to graduate from high school and go to a university. I like the school part but there is also a lot more responsibility: having to pay for school, rent, food, cell phone, deciding what you want to do for the rest of your life, juggling finances. In high school I only had to worry about money for my car and recreation. Right now I'm wishing I could move back home and work at Magnolia again. All I ever did was work, rock climb, and go out with Kailey (COC didn't require any studying).
I hate money, mainly because I never seem to have enough of it. Kailey and I are planning on getting married next fall, but I have no idea how I can afford it, unless by some miracle I can qualify for some additional student loans and use them to pay off credit card debt and finance a ring (Diamonds aren't even rare, but distribution makes them so freakin expensive!) It's not just the ring either, a honeymoon costs about $4-5,000. I also need to buy a car so that I can get a better job that doesn't have to be so close to my apartment, but I need a better job so I can afford a car. Right now I am so poor that my roommate and I are mooching off of other people's wireless connections without them knowing. All I want to do is rock climb, unfortunately I am forced to live in the real world. Oh well...
I like Christmas, I'm listening to Manheim Steamroller's Christmas Celebration right now. The crappy thing about Christmas in Utah is that there is snow which means no climbing, except for gyms which cost money that I don't have. I wish I had money to buy presents though. You know, I would play the lotto in hopes of solving all of my financial dilemmas but continuing with its ridiculousness, the lotto is illegal in Utah. This state is soo weird, I can't wait to go back to California.

Anime

Anime. It may seem childish to some, but I really enjoy watching it...still. I first got interested in it when I was a freshman in highschool (ashamed to say it was dragonball that got me interested). And ever since it has been one of my favorite mediums of entertainment. I like a lot of shows produced in the U.S., Seinfield is by far one of the best, FRIENDS is great, Scrubs, Nip Tuck, all of these shows are good, but for some reason I find anime tends to be better because I feel that it evokes an emotional response that American television lacks (and maybe it's because deep down Im still a kid).

Anyways, I just finished watching Gundam Wing, which was actually about a five year or so process. I watched about half of the series that was bootlegged on Bryan's computer and then we somehow never finished it, so about six months ago I found it at Best Buy for a good price and bought the whole series which I didn't start watching until about a month ago. I finished it on Friday and I watched the movie (which I got off of Amazon.com for 4 bucks) today. I thought the TV series was amazing and understand why it is a classic, however, sad to say I was disappointed with the movie. The animation was definently better than the TV series, and the Gundams looked awesome, but I felt that Bandai just wanted to milk it for what it was worth. It was basically a long drawn out episode that was poorly linked to the rest of the series, and in my opinion was rather anti-climactic.

Well enough of that...Now to list my top five favorite anime series.
1) Kenshin (hands down the best, the first two seasons anyways)
2) Evangelion
3)Noir (which I saw first thanks to bootlegged copies Bryan got from Grace when she was in Japan)
3) Outlaw Star
4) Gundam Wing
5) Record of Lodoss War

If anyone reads this who is into anime leave me a list of your top five, or I'd be delighted if there are any suggestions for good series that I need to see.

Ya I know the pictures are not the proper size, but hey for anyone who reads my blog, pics is a giant step...I started and finished watching Gundam Wing after seen half of it years ago bootlegged on Bryan's computer. I was quite pleased with it, and can't wait to see Endless Waltz tomorrow night. Serving still sucks but is not that stressful anymore. Grace Im pretty sure you are the only person that reads my blog and I thank you for that. I have met more Gay guys in SLC than anywhere I have ever lived, which seems kinda odd because of the whole religeous influence thing we got going on here. I'm thinking of changing my major to English so I can completely avoid math, plus Econ, although interesting at times, can put you to sleep faster than a stoner who's finished off everything in the pantry. Anyways, these are my random thoughts which I seem to record every couple of months or so....

Employment can suck...

So Im Employed again. I now work for Brinker International which owns resturaunts like Chili's and Macaroni Grill, and I am gonna be a server at the Chili's in downtown Salt Lake...the only thing is I have never served before. Im not really nervous but there are a couple of bullshit things that are required in order to serve in Utah. The first is that you must be twenty one in order to serve in the state of Utah. The second thing is that in order for me to be qualified to serve alcohol i must take an online course that takes three hours and costs thirty dollars for a stupid certification. Lastly, if at work someone orders a drink at the bar the bartender will make it but then in order to give it to the customer must walk around the bar in oder to actually give it to the customer! I swear prohibition would be easier. My slip resistant shoes give me blisters. You know, my blog is more of a place for me to rant and rave than an online journal. I also need to figure out how to put up pictures...

The genuis is that my brother, Ben

I've decied to write a poem while i wait for AV to start

i was reading my book for my myth class
when i hurt my toe on a knob made of brass
a shot of pain ran up from my toe
it felt like it was chopped off with a hoe
i gasped in the pain as i fell down the stairs
but i broke my fall with a bunch of wooden chairs
the stumble caused my neck to break
and then jake came and hit me with a rake
with a stubbed toe, broken neck, and pierced thigh
i made a turnakit with a tie
with my leg turning purple and blue
chloe gave me her flu
i spent the rest of the night throwing up
into what i thought was a bucket, but was really a cup
i woke up the next mornign really really tired
so i decided to tell donald trump he was fired
because of this he got really mad
and he stole a gun from his dad
So trump came over to my house
and ate a poor tiny mouse
then he saw me in a room
and mom and dad heard a boom
they rushed down the stairs and guess what they could find
me, IM BLIND
the donald saw that he missed
he was really really pissed
so he pretended he was bruce lee
and in the end he murdered me

THE END

Ben, i told you this would be published

U of U

Well Im back here at the University of Utah....I have mixed feeling about it. Im very happy to be out of Santa Clarita and out on my own again. I am also very excited about once again attending courses at a University (COC sucks). My roommates seem pretty cool. Hugo Jacabo is from Irvine California and we seem to get along pretty well. My suitemates are Joe Nations and Blake. ITs cool cause three of us are from soCal so we get along. This is all good however, there are many things im not excited about. The first, and most major, is that I had to leave my girlfriend of three years behind in California. Its really tough because we are to the point where we are talking about marraige and leaving her was by far the hardest thing. The second and most suprising was leaving one of my best friends, Ajay. In the last couple months he has become one of my closest friends. He is very generous and optomistic, he can make anyone, no matter what mood they are in, smile. He made a great climbing partner (even though he was able to complete problems after only a couple of months that it took me years to accomplish, in turn making me frustrated). Im not happy about not being able to go climbing, Utah is one of the climbing meccas in the world and i have no one to go with and no form of transportation to go. Although quitting Best Buy was very fufilling, being unemployed is not. I just finished filling out an application with Wells Fargo, so im keeping my fingers crossed. Other than that i dont have much to complain about...
